Dr Eskandar Sadeghi-Boroujerdi, BSc (Hons), PGDip, MA, DPhil (Oxon) is a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow in the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford and a Postdoctoral Associate at St Cross College, University of Oxford. Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies, University of Exeter. Dr Sadeghi-Boroujerdi was formerly Associate Editor of the British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies & fixed term lecturer at the University of Exeter teaching Modern Middle Eastern History. He obtained his DPhil in Middle Eastern Studies at Queen's College, University of Oxford under the supervision of Dr Homa Katouzian, focusing on post-revolutionary Iranian intellectual and political history. He was formerly editor of Al-Monitor’s Iran Pulse, Iran researcher for the Oxford Research Group and a teaching fellow at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. His research interests comprise 20th century Iranian political and intellectual history, post-revolutionary Iranian history in particular, the history of Iranian leftism, Iranian religious-political groups and parties, political Islam, Islamic Studies, Shi'ism, transnational Shi'i Islamism, and the Shi'i clergy. He has published academic peer reviewed articles and current affairs analysis on Iranian political and religious issues in Foreign Policy, Al-Jazeera English, Jacobin, The Guardian, Al-Monitor, British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies, Digest of Middle East Studies, Iranian Studies, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace's Sada, Lobe Log, Iran Wire, e-International Relations, PBS Frontline: Tehran Bureau, among others.
