Tabarraee, Babak

Middle Eastern Studies

Currently a PhD student in the department of Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, I have an MA in Film Studies (UBC, Vancouver) and an MA in Dramatic Literature (University of Art, Tehran). I am also the head of Film and Theater Section at the Encyclopedia of the World of Islam, Tehran, Iran. As a writer and translator, I have published a collection of stories, a novel, and more than 20 literary and theoretical books in Persian. Some of my research interests include the social history of Iranian literature, film, and media; cultural exchanges between Iran and other countries, and teaching Persian as a second language.
