Bet-Shlimon, Arbella

Arbella Bet-Shlimon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of History at the University of Washington, Seattle. She completed her PhD in History and Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University in 2012. In her research and teaching, she specializes in the political, social, and economic history of twentieth-century Iraq and the broader Gulf region. Her current project is a history of oil, neoimperialism, urban change, and identity formation in the city of Kirkuk in the twentieth century.
