Assistant professor of history and the director of the Ottoman and Turkish Studies Initiative (OTSI) at Cornell University. Board member at the Ottoman and Turkish Studies Association (OTSA) and delegate at large the American Research Institute in Turkey (ARIT). Research interest include Ottoman social, cultural and diplomatic history at the turn of the century with a focus on trans-imperial international policies and inter-imperial competitive colonialism from Istanbul to Addis Ababa.
