Aroian, Lois A.

Pastor

Lois Aroian studied at Occidental College, the American University of Beirut, the American University in Cairo, The University of Michigan, and the National Defense University. She taught at Occidental, Michigan, and the University of Ilorin in Nigeria before joining the U.S. Department of State in 1984. She authored or co-authored two books and a number of papers on modern Egyptian history presented at MESA meetings. As an FSO, she served primarily in the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa. She has retired from both academia and State. She is now a Presbyterian pastor in South Dakota and is currently the Moderator-Elect of the Presbytery of South Dakota. She follows Middle East issues closely.
