American Institute of Afghanistan Studies (AIAS)

Founded in 2003. Annual dues: $25 individuals; $500 institutions. The American Institute of Afghanistan Studies is a private, scholarly institution founded to support research on all aspects of Afghanistan's history and culture and to promote scholarly ties between Afghanistan and the United States. AIAS is a member of the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC). AIAS maintains a research center in Kabul, Afghanistan, offers fellowships, and sponsors panels and conferences.
