Visiting Lecturer in Arabic Language

NYU Abu Dhabi (Arts & Humanities) is currently inviting applications for a fixed-term visiting lecturer in Arabic Language for the academic year 2019-2020. The chosen candidate will join a thriving Arabic language program in an exciting linguistic and cultural context.

We seek candidates with primary interest, research, and experience in teaching Arabic (to native or non-native learners) at all levels, with an ability to teach MSA and at least one Arabic dialect. Teaching load is up to three courses per semester. An M.A. in Arabic Language or a related field is required; candidates possessing a Ph.D. will be given preference.

The terms of employment are highly competitive, and include housing and relocation assistance. Appointments, which are dependent on final budgetary approval, are for one academic year. The NYUAD academic calendar typically starts the last week of August and ends in the last week of May. Candidates must be willing to relocate to the UAE in time for the beginning of the semester. Visiting faculty (if not retired) must be able to obtain leave of absence and a letter of no objection from their home institution. The appointments are potentially renewable, depending on the needs of the institution.
