Instructional Assistant Professor of Arabic

The Department of International Studies at Texas A&M University announces a position for a full-time, non tenure-track Instructional Assistant Professor of Arabic. Arabic studies at Texas A&M is housed within a large and vibrant department of International Studies. Teaching load is three courses/semester, and will include a combination of advanced Arabic language and culture classes and courses in the interdisciplinary International Studies program. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate teaching experience. The candidate will also be asked to assist in preparing students for OPI testing as part of the new certificate of proficiency in Arabic and to contribute to program building. Ph.D. in Arabic or Arabic Studies by date of appointment is preferred; ABD considered. Native or near-native proficiency in Arabic and English is required.
