The Middle East Studies Association seeks a part-time research assistant for a project collecting data on the denial of entry and visas to students and academics from the Middle East to the United States. The RA will take the lead in soliciting information from colleges and universities, professional associations, and the MESA membership, along with data previously collected by MESA, the ACLU and relevant NGOs. The RA will also work with the task force on collating and analyzing the data, and drafting the final report and public summaries. Desirable qualifications include proficiency in Excel and some experience conducting research and interviews. The position pays $15/hour, with an expectation of 10-15 hours a week for six months. Shared workspace is available at the MESA office in George Washington University.
