Visiting Fellowships at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies

The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies promotes excellence in the study of Islam and Muslim societies. Applications are invited for Visiting Fellowships and Visiting Research Fellowships tenable at the Centre for the academic year commencing October 2022.

Both fellowships are offered to support research in any area of the arts, humanities, or social sciences that has relevance to the study of Islam or the Muslim world. Applicants would normally be established academics, but scholars at the postdoctoral level are also eligible.

The Visiting Fellowships are awarded annually to support an extended period of independent study and research at Oxford. They carry a supplementary stipend of £5000. The deadline is 28 January 2022.

Visiting Research Fellowships are open to citizens of countries in Asia or Africa and are intended to encourage interaction among academics from different traditions of learning. They carry a supplementary stipend of £4000. The deadline is 11 February 2022.
