Association for Middle East Women’s Studies (AMEWS)
Founded in 1985. Subscription costs, which includes annual dues: $75 Individual and Professor (with print and online subscription; $55 with online only); $50 retiree/independent scholar/low income nation citizen (with print and online subscription; $30 if online only); $35 student/activist (with print and online subscription; $15 if online only). AMEWS is an organization of scholars and individuals with an interest in women and gender studies in the context of the Middle East/ North Africa and beyond, including transnational and diasporic communities in Europe, and North and South America. Its triennial publication, The Journal of Middle East Women's Studies (JMEWS), published by Duke University Press, advances the fields of women's and gender studies through contributions across disciplines in the social sciences, humanities and other fields. JMEWS encourages research that is theoretically, epistemologically, and methodologically innovative. Membership to AMEWS and AMEWS list-serv is through JMEWS at Duke University Press.
