Society for Armenian Studies (SAS)
Founded in 1974. Membership: 222. Membership fee: $50 regular/supporting members; $25 student/retired members; $500 institutional members. The goals of SAS are to promote the study of Armenian culture and society, including history, language, literature, and social, political, and economic questions; to facilitate the exchange of scholarly information pertaining to Armenian studies; and to sponsor panels, conferences, a newsletter and journal. SAS organizes and sponsors panels on all aspects of Armenian studies at professional meetings, conferences and symposia. SAS normally meets in conjunction with MESA. President: Bedross Der Matossian.
