Response to 10 January 2023 Letter
Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. By now, I trust that you have read Dean Elmendorf’s update on the matter: https://www.hks.harvard.edu/announcements/update-regarding-ken-roth-fellow-hks. I support and applaud his decision.
I have had occasions throughout my presidency to affirm the value of a community comprising many voices. As I have noted previously, the defense of free and honest inquiry in the unfettered pursuit of truth is our shared responsibility—and among our most sacred commitments. Ensuring that all can be heard remains one of my priorities as president, and I appreciate your corresponding with me on this important set of issues.
