Michael Bonner, Professor of Islamic History, Department of Middle East Studies and Professor of History, College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan, died unexpectantly on May 24, 2019. He was an active member of MESA and served on several committees including as chair of the 2012 Program Committee.
